Ash Grunwald, Walking
Australian artist Ash Grunwald is well known on home turf and it's no secret why: His songs have heartfelt vocals and catchy melodies for a sound familiar to fans of the Black Keys. While it's too late to catch him live Stateside this summer, Aussies can see him perform for the next few months.
Restavrant, WYK
The duo Restavrant rocks out to the beat of their own drummer (literally). Frontman Troy Murrah and percussionist J State are based in L.A. but their Texas roots are loud and clear. Their songs seamlessly combine the slide guitar and foot-stomping found in country with metal-driven vocals for good measure. Last year they toured with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and currently have a new album in the works.
